QuasiPaper LLC (合同会社ほぼ紙) (“we,” “us,” or “our”) considers the proper handling of user information an important responsibility in connection with the applications, websites, web services, and other services we provide (collectively, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy explains the information we collect or hold through the Services, how we use and retain it, how we use service providers, how information may be processed internationally, and the rights available to users.
Where applicable law requires a personal data or privacy notice, this Privacy Policy is also intended to serve as that notice.
Not every Service collects every category of information described below. Some Services store user-created data only on the user’s device and do not transmit that data to our servers.
1. Our Principles
We use information obtained from or entrusted to us by users only to the extent reasonably necessary to provide, operate, secure, and improve the Services.

- We do not provide user content to third parties for their advertising.
- We do not use user content to train generative AI or other AI models.
- Our personnel do not review user content for curiosity, business analysis, or similar purposes unrelated to providing the Services.
If a user asks us to investigate a problem or otherwise requests support that requires us to inspect content, we may verify the user’s identity where appropriate and access only the minimum information necessary to respond.
We may also access the minimum information necessary to respond to a security incident, comply with law, or otherwise operate the Services safely.

If we wish to use personal information for a materially different purpose, we will obtain consent where required by applicable law.
4. What Happens if Information Is Not Provided
Providing personal information is generally voluntary.
However, some information, such as account identifiers, may be necessary to provide particular features. If such information is not provided, the user may be unable to use login, cloud storage, synchronization, purchase verification, or other relevant features.
A user is not required to provide optional content in order to use unrelated features of a Service.
5. User Content
Documents, images, and other content stored or transmitted through the Services remain the user’s content.
We do not acquire ownership of user content.
To provide the Services, we may perform automated processing such as server storage, device synchronization, file conversion, encryption, backup, and file transmission.
Such automated processing does not mean that our personnel review the contents of the files.
6. Service Providers and Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not sell users’ personal information or user content.
We do not disclose personal information or user content to independent third parties for their advertising or marketing without the user’s consent.
We may disclose information when:

We may use third-party providers for cloud infrastructure, authentication, application distribution, payments, analytics, and other functions necessary to provide the Services.
Depending on the Service, these providers may include Apple and its affiliates, Google and its affiliates, Amazon Web Services and its affiliates, and other cloud or technology providers.
We take reasonable steps, including vendor selection and contractual measures where appropriate, to require service providers to handle information consistently with the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
7. Analytics
We may use Google Analytics or similar analytics services on our websites or Services to understand usage in aggregate and improve quality.
Such services may collect information including the number of users, frequency of use, features used, device and operating system information, IP addresses, and similar technical information.
We do not send the contents of users’ documents, PDFs, images, handwriting, or other stored or transmitted content to analytics services for analytics purposes.
8. International Processing and Transfers
We are based in Japan.
If you use the Services from outside Japan, personal information submitted to account-based or cloud Services may be transferred to and processed in Japan.
When we use providers such as Apple, Google, Amazon Web Services, or other technology providers, account information, purchase information, analytics information, and other technical data may also be processed in the United States or in other jurisdictions where those providers operate facilities.
The principal countries in which we currently expect such processing to occur include Japan and the United States. We will update this Privacy Policy if our processing arrangements materially change.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use appropriate measures such as contractual protections, standard contractual clauses, adequacy mechanisms, or other lawful safeguards.
Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to lawful access by courts, law enforcement agencies, national security authorities, or other governmental bodies under the laws of that jurisdiction.
9. Payment Information
When payment is made through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another external payment service, the payment transaction is processed through that provider.
We generally do not receive users’ credit card numbers or other payment instrument details.
We may receive purchase information necessary to provide the Service, including subscription status, product or plan purchased, and purchase date.
10. Retention
We do not retain personal information longer than reasonably necessary for providing the Services, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, maintaining security, or other legitimate purposes.
User content stored in a cloud Service is generally retained until the user deletes it or the relevant account or Service is terminated.
When an account is deleted or closed, we progressively delete information associated with the account, except for information that must be retained for legal, security, accounting, or operational reasons.
Deleted information may remain for a limited period in backups or other technical systems. Such information is removed from ordinary use and deleted in accordance with our backup and retention cycles.
Logs, purchase records, and similar information may be retained for the period reasonably necessary for security, accounting, legal compliance, or related purposes.
11. Security
We use reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, leakage, alteration, destruction, or misuse.
Access to information is limited to persons who reasonably need access for the operation of the Services.
12. Data Breaches and Security Incidents
If a security incident involving information under our control occurs, we will investigate the incident and take reasonable measures to contain harm, determine the cause, and prevent recurrence.
Where applicable law requires notification or reporting, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required.
